Our Treasurer

Florett Burrey

Florett Burrey

Florett Burrey – Ms. Flo, as she is often called – wants young people to know that goal setting is a great place to start in self-improvement and professional development. She brings a lifetime of experience to the mission of the Gifted for Success program to help in this regard.

As a mother and grandmother, she relates very well to the challenges that young people find themselves facing in today’s world. From the wealth of lessons learned in raising her family, she brings empathy, understanding, hope, and encouragement to others at every opportunity she gets. She reminds everyone to look at the big picture especially when faced with daunting tasks or difficult decisions that overwhelm us at times.

Flo’s professional experience is in the business and communication arena. She is a licensed real estate agent, Notary Signing Agent, and recently became a Certified Proofreader. Flo also spent many years working in the Banking and Utilities industries. Her roles always involve working with people from various backgrounds. This has allowed her to hone her interpersonal relationship-building skills while learning to appreciate various viewpoints.

Flo believes that everyone has at least two resources available to them – time and talent – and it is up to each of us to manage these resources. Gifted for Success is here to help and as mentioned earlier, personal, and professional goal setting is a great place to start, or maintain, your growth and development.
